Say no to romaji!

NO ROMAJI MANIFESTO

Romaji, the characters in which this text is written, have plagued the Japanese learning industry for too long. By not learning Japanese using ひらがな, カタカナ and 漢字, students miss out on the ability to read and write Japanese and have greater difficulty with pronunciation. Whole texts written entirely in romaji are not only difficult to read, but may even be misinterpreted due to the numerous homophones in Japanese. Pioneered by lazy students and lazier educators, the use of romaji (and kiriji) in the Japanese learning industry should stop.
